The Position

The C&B coordinator delivers high level-expertise related to C&B matters, executes and monitors all C&B processes and manages employee benefits (insurances, lease cars etc) across the 5 Recticel sites in Belgium.

Specific tasks & responsibilities

  • You coordinate and operationally support all C&B processes such as the annual salary review and performance management process.
  • You manage all employee related benefits: contracting, follow-up quality & deliverables, leading improvement projects and ensuring legal compliance.
  • You are responsible for job grading using the Hay system and for maintaining the grading database.
  • You ensure your C&B expertise is up to date and you keep track of labour market trends.
  • You ensure the availability of benchmarking data whenever needed.
  • You work closely together with the payroll coordinator Belgium and are the back-up for the main payroll processes for white collars.
  • You ensure clear and timely communication on C&B related matters to management and employees.
  • You coordinate GDPR compliance for HR.

 

 Your Profile

  • You have a master degree, preferably in law or economics and at least 5 years of experience in the C&B area.
  • You have a strong interest in and knowledge of group insurances and the related legislation.
  • You are able to take full responsibility for C&B related projects from planning to implementation and follow-up.
  • You are an excellent communicator – able to explain complex matters in a simple way.
  • You take initiative and work autonomously.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS office (especially Excel) is required - knowledge of SAP HR and Successfactors is a plus.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English (oral & written). Any other language is an asset.

The Head of HR will work closely with Belgium’s Senior Partner, Practice Heads and Senior Management Team to implement the business strategy by:

 

  • leading, coaching and developing the HR team;
  • setting a clear direction for all HR operations to enable delivery of the HR strategy;
  • providing expert guidance to the Practice on a variety of matters in the HR lifecycle;
  • identifying and mapping the talent pipeline and succession plans;
  • supporting the business in optimising their resource model and effective headcount management;
  • overseeing the analysis of feedback and data, to identify trends, maximise the working environment and ensure a culture of engagement;
  • working with local and global management teams to influence the development of performance, recognition and reward policies and programmes, advising on local implementation;
  • collaborating with partner champions to design and deliver local diversity and wellbeing initiatives;
  • continually reviewing the HR service to ensure that it meets the needs of the Practice.

 

With support from HR colleagues locally and globally, this role has overall responsibility for the management of the HR function in Belgium including:

 

  • design and delivery of the local recruitment strategy, with a particular focus on attracting the next generation of lawyers;
  • embedding the firm’s new performance development process which focuses on real-time feedback and regular career conversations;
  • creating and managing the HR team’s annual budget;
  • introducing and driving change management initiatives;
  • effectively structure compensation and benefits to attract and retain top talent;
  • ensuring HR best practice and compliance with HR policies and procedures.

 

Your Profile

 

  • Experienced HR manager with a thorough knowledge of the entire HR lifecycle, compliance practices and a sound, up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
  • Will have worked successfully as a senior HR practitioner in a corporate, finance, professional services, consultancy or law firm.
  • Excellent track record of working with senior management within a complex international organization.
  • Strong commercial/business acumen with the ability to influence strategic thinking/direction through creative and pragmatic issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels and particularly to win the respect of the Partner community, building and developing strong client relationships.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to nurture and work in a fast paced, intellectually rigorous environment.
  • High energy individual who enjoys both the operational and strategic sides of this role and shows great flexibility.
  • Resilient; able to understand that credibility has to be earned in this environment and may take time

The Position

 

As Legal Advisor, you will support the group’s activities in continental Europe and the UK.

You will among others have the following tasks:

 

  • Provide legal advice on all business operations and activities of the group and advise the other departments on a variety of legal matters;
  • Prepare, review and negotiate a wide spectrum of contracts relating amongst others to: franchising, store leases, distribution, product development, purchasing, etc.;
  • Manage litigation (except for accounts payables) and the few court disputes in different countries, and set-up risk mitigation strategies;
  • Assist the group entities in complying with GDPR/privacy legislation;
  • Support the paralegal in corporate housekeeping and restructuring activities;
  • Liaise with outside counsels.

 

You will report to the European Legal Director and will be based in Ghent.

 

Your Profile

 

  • You have a Master in law.
  • You have 5 to 7 years relevant experience in commercial contracts and business law in the broad sense, gained in a law firm and preferably also as in-house counsel. You have, more generally, sound legal reasoning skills and a generalist business law background, acquired in an international environment.
  • You have an international mindset and work well with people in different countries and languages. You are prepared to travel occasionally (mainly to the UK).
  • Being familiar with UK law is a strong plus.
  • You are fluent in English, French and Dutch. Spanish and German are an asset.
  • You are driven and have a flexible, pragmatic and commercial attitude.
  • You are hands-on and have a can-do attitude; you like to work in a fast moving environment.
  • You know how to work in an independent manner, work well under pressure and are a good team player.
